Week 16

Sharing

There is something deeply moving about seeing people coming together to distribute food or care packages. It reminds us that even in a busy world, kindness still finds its way into everyday life. Perhaps it brings back memories of a time when neighbours looked out for one another, when families quietly prepared extra meals to share, or when someone unexpectedly appeared with groceries, a warm meal, or a helping hand during a difficult season. Maybe you remember volunteering at a community event, packing food for families in need, or watching your parents teach you that true generosity is often expressed through simple acts of love rather than grand gestures.

Many of us can also recall moments when we ourselves were on the receiving end of someone else’s kindness. A meal delivered when we were unwell. A friend who listened without judgment. A church member who prayed with us. A neighbour who offered practical help without being asked. At the time, these may have seemed like ordinary acts of compassion, but looking back, we can see God’s loving hand working through willing hearts.

God’s generosity is often revealed in quiet and unexpected ways. He provides not only through what He gives directly, but also through the people He places along our journey. Every encouraging word, every helping hand, every shared meal, and every act of compassion reflects His loving care for us. Long before we are able to bless others, we have already been richly blessed by Him.

As we remember the kindness we have received, our hearts are gently reminded that God’s blessings are never meant to stop with us. Like a river that continues to flow, His love is meant to overflow into the lives of those around us. When we give generously—whether through our time, resources, encouragement, or presence—we become channels of God’s grace, allowing others to experience the same love that has first been shown to us.

Bible Verse:

God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8 WEB

Blessings:

God has richly blessed us with His unfailing provision, compassionate care, and the kindness of people He has placed in our lives. He has met our needs, carried us through difficult seasons, and continues to provide opportunities for us to experience His goodness each day.

Reflection Point:

God’s generosity is not measured only by what He places in our hands, but by the countless ways He faithfully cares for us each day. Having received His love and provision, we are invited to become channels of His generosity to others.

Reflection Question:

As I look back on the kindness God has shown me through family, friends, and even strangers, who is someone I can bless this week with the same love and generosity?

Action to Consider for this week:

Prayerfully look for one person who could use encouragement or practical help. Share a meal, prepare a care package, give to someone in need, visit a lonely neighbour, or simply offer your time and a listening ear. Let your generosity become a reflection of God’s generous heart.
