Week 2

Morning kopi with friends

The familiar aroma of freshly brewed kopi, the gentle hum of conversations, the clink of porcelain cups, and the warm greetings exchanged across the coffee shop—these are simple moments that have been part of life in Singapore for generations.

Many of us grew up watching parents, grandparents, and neighbours gather over a cup of kopi. Friendships were built one conversation at a time. Laughter was shared, burdens were lightened, wisdom was passed down, and no one seemed to be in a hurry. Looking back, these ordinary mornings were quiet reminders of God’s goodness.

Friendship is one of God’s precious gifts. Through the people He places in our lives, He encourages us when we are weary, comforts us when we are discouraged, celebrates with us in times of joy, and gently reminds us that we were never meant to walk alone.

The next time you sit down with family or friends over a cup of kopi, pause to thank God. The conversation, the companionship, and even the unhurried moments together are all expressions of His loving care. Often, God’s richest blessings are not found in extraordinary events, but in the faithful presence of those He has lovingly placed beside us

Bible Verse:

Iron sharpens iron;

so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance.

Proverbs 27:17 WEB

Blessings:

God has given us friends and companions to walk with us through life—people who share our joys, stand with us in our struggles, and remind us through their presence that we are not alone.

Reflection Point:

God gives me friends to encourage, strengthen, and journey with me in life.

Reflection Question:

How can I intentionally build up and encourage the friends God has placed in my life this week?

Action to Consider for this week:

Reach out to one friend this week to encourage them—through a message, prayer, or sharing a cup of kopi together.
