Week 24

Nurturing

Watching a neighbour water flowers outside the home while a curious child looks on is a quietly beautiful picture of everyday life. The gentle splash of water, blooming plants, and patient care bring life not only to the garden but also to the neighbourhood. For many of us, it brings back memories of parents, grandparents, or neighbours tending their plants, teaching us that beautiful things often grow through small, faithful acts repeated day after day.

Caring for a garden is an act of faithful stewardship. Flowers do not bloom overnight; they flourish because someone patiently nurtures what has been entrusted to them. In much the same way, God has placed many blessings in our hands—our families, friendships, homes, abilities, resources, and the community around us. As we faithfully care for these gifts, we reflect His love and goodness to those around us.

Looking back, we can see that God has been the faithful Gardener of our own lives. He has patiently nurtured our faith, provided for our needs, and helped us grow through every season. Even when we were unaware of His work, His loving hands were shaping our character, strengthening our faith, and surrounding us with people who encouraged and cared for us. These precious blessings remind us of His unfailing love and faithfulness.

Today, God invites us to be faithful stewards of all He has entrusted to us. Every small act of care—a kind word, tending a garden, caring for our family, encouraging a child, or simply taking time to help a neighbour—has the potential to leave a lasting impact. What may seem like an ordinary act of kindness can become a seed of hope that God uses to bless another life.

May this image remind us that the greatest growth often begins with the smallest acts of faithfulness. As God continues to nurture our lives with His grace, may we also cultivate lives that bear fruit for His glory, faithfully caring for the people and opportunities He has entrusted to us.

Bible Verse:

Here, moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

1 Corinthians 4:2 WEB

Blessings:

God has entrusted you with precious gifts and faithfully watches over your life. As you care for what He has placed in your hands, may your life flourish and become a blessing that brings hope, beauty, and life to those around you.

Reflection Point:

God has generously entrusted you with many blessings and continues to faithfully nurture your life. Stewardship begins with gratefully caring for what He has already placed in your hands.

Reflection Question:

What gifts, relationships, or opportunities has God entrusted to your care? How can you nurture them faithfully as an expression of gratitude to Him?

Action to Consider for this week:

Care for something that blesses others. Water a neighbour’s plants, help maintain a shared space, encourage a child, or invest time in someone who needs your care and attention.
