Week 21

Bringing good news

There was a time when the arrival of the postman was quietly anticipated. The gentle sound of letters dropping into the letterbox often stirred excitement—perhaps a handwritten note from a loved one, a postcard from afar, news of a new opportunity, or simply a message that reminded us someone was thinking of us. Such ordinary moments carried extraordinary joy.

Behind every letter was the faithful work of a postman who walked familiar streets each day, delivering messages that connected hearts and brought hope. Though often unnoticed, his work became a blessing to countless families. It reminds us that God often uses the ordinary work of faithful hands to deliver encouragement, comfort, and good news into our lives.

As we look back, we may realize how many “good news” moments God has already placed along our journey—a prayer answered, an unexpected provision, a word of encouragement at the right time, or the loving presence of family and friends. These were not mere coincidences, but quiet reminders that God has always been at work, faithfully caring for us and filling our lives with reasons to hope.

Today, God continues to entrust His people with the privilege of sharing good news. A kind message, an encouraging conversation, a handwritten note, or a simple prayer can brighten someone’s day and remind them they are not forgotten. Just as the postman faithfully delivered messages from others, we too can become messengers of God’s love and hope.

Bible Verse:

And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’

Romans 10:15 WEB
