Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego Story

King Nebuchadnezzar built a massive gold statue and commanded everyone in his kingdom to bow down and worship it whenever the music played. Anyone who refused would be thrown into a blazing furnace.

Among the crowd were three faithful Jews—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Though they served in important positions in the kingdom, they remained devoted to God and refused to worship the statue. When this was reported to the king, he became furious and gave them one final chance to bow.

The three men courageously replied, “Our God is able to save us from the fiery furnace, and He can rescue us from your power. But even if He does not, we will not serve your gods or worship the image you have set up.”

Enraged, Nebuchadnezzar ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. The flames were so intense that the soldiers who threw the men into the furnace were killed.

Then something astonishing happened. Looking into the furnace, the king exclaimed, “Didn’t we throw three men into the fire? I see four men walking around unharmed, and the fourth looks like a divine being!”

Nebuchadnezzar called the men out, and everyone saw that the fire had not harmed them. Their clothes were untouched, their hair was not singed, and they did not even smell of smoke.

Amazed by this miracle, the king praised the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, recognizing that He had rescued His faithful servants.
