I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old order had passed away. The sea was gone, and the Holy City—the New Jerusalem—came down from God like a bride beautifully prepared.
A voice declared, “Now God will dwell with His people. He will wipe away every tear. There will be no more death, sorrow, or pain. All things are made new.”
God said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega. I give the water of life freely to those who are thirsty. Those who overcome will be My people forever. But those who reject Me will face judgment and separation from Me.”
An angel then showed me the Holy City in greater detail. It shone with God’s glory, like precious jewels. It had twelve gates named after the tribes of Israel and foundations named after the apostles.
The city was pure gold, with streets like transparent gold. There was no temple, for God and the Lamb were its temple. It needed no sun or moon, for God’s glory was its light.
Its gates were always open, and the nations were welcomed in. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life entered the city.
