Burning Bush Story

Pharaoh’s daughter raised Moses as her son. As an adult, Moses saw the suffering of his people. When he killed an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, word spread, and Pharaoh sought to kill him. Moses fled to Midian, where he defended Jethro’s daughters from shepherds and later married Zipporah, becoming a shepherd.

Forty years later, at 80, Moses saw a burning bush that wasn’t consumed. God called him, telling him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses hesitated, doubting his ability to speak and lead. God reassured him, revealed His name as “I AM,” and gave him signs—a staff turning into a snake and a hand afflicted with leprosy that was healed.God promised to help Moses speak and sent Aaron as his spokesman. Moses accepted and sought Jethro’s permission to return to Egypt to free his people.
