One afternoon, Peter and John went to the temple for prayer and met a man who had been crippled from birth. Every day he was placed at the gate called Beautiful to beg for money.

The man asked them for help, but Peter said, “I don’t have money, but I give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Peter took him by the hand, and immediately the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He stood up, walked, and went into the temple courts leaping and praising God.

The people recognised him as the beggar and were amazed. A crowd gathered, and Peter explained, “This man was healed by the power of Jesus, whom you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses that He is alive.”

He urged them to turn from their sins and believe in Jesus, so that their sins might be forgiven.
