After teaching the crowds all day, Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they set out across the Sea of Galilee.

As they sailed, Jesus, exhausted from the day’s ministry, lay down in the back of the boat and fell asleep. Suddenly, a fierce storm arose. The wind howled, and waves crashed over the boat until it began to fill with water. Fear gripped the disciples.

They woke Him and cried, “Master, don’t You care that we are about to die?”

Jesus rose and spoke to the wind and the waves: “Peace! Be still!” Immediately, the storm stopped, and the sea became completely calm.

Then He turned to His disciples and said, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” The disciples were filled with awe and asked one another, “Who is this? Even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
