Week 47

Lightings

Walking through the neighbourhood beneath beautifully illuminated street lights brings a special sense of warmth and wonder. The glowing lights, familiar pathways, and cheerful atmosphere may bring back memories of evening strolls with family, festive celebrations, or neighbours stopping to admire the decorations together. As darkness falls, the lights quietly transform ordinary streets into places of joy, comfort, and hope.

Life also has its darker seasons—times of uncertainty, disappointment, or sorrow. Yet God’s grace shines brightest when we need it most. Like a light that gently guides us home, His presence gives us courage when we are afraid, peace when we are anxious, and hope when the path ahead seems unclear. No darkness is ever too deep for His light to reach.

One of God’s precious blessings is the people He places in our lives. Through a friend’s encouragement, a neighbour’s kindness, or a family’s unwavering support, His light shines into our hearts. These simple acts of love remind us that we are never alone and that God’s grace is often reflected through ordinary people in extraordinary ways.

Bible Verse:

Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 WEB

Blessings:

God blesses us with the light of His presence that never fades, the assurance of His faithful guidance, and the gift of people who brighten our lives with love and encouragement. As we walk in His light, may our hearts be filled with peace, our steps guided by His wisdom, and our lives become a shining reflection of His grace.

Reflection Point:

God’s light does not always remove the darkness immediately, but it faithfully guides us through it. As we walk with Him, His grace enables us to become lights of hope and encouragement for others.

Reflection Question:

Who has been a light in your life during a difficult season, and how can you reflect God’s light by bringing hope and kindness to someone this week?

Action to Consider for this week:

Be a light to someone who may be feeling discouraged or alone. Offer an encouraging word, share a thoughtful message, or spend time with them. Your simple act of kindness may brighten their day and remind them that God is with them.
