God led the Israelites from Egypt by a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day, guiding them toward the Red Sea instead of directly to Canaan. God warned Moses that Pharaoh would pursue them one last time to show His power.
Pharaoh chased the Israelites to the Red Sea, trapping them. Fearful, the people complained to Moses, who reassured them God would fight for them. God parted the sea with a strong wind, creating a dry path. The Israelites crossed safely, but when the Egyptians followed, God confused them and caused the sea to drown Pharaoh’s army.
After crossing, the Israelites journeyed into the wilderness toward Mount Sinai. They travelled three days without water until they found bitter water, which God made drinkable by Moses throwing a tree into it. God promised healing and protection if they obeyed Him.
