Adam and Eve Story

In the early days, the earth hadn’t yet sprouted plants, and it hadn’t rained; instead, a mist watered the land daily. God created the first man, Adam, from soil and breathed life into him.

God planted a beautiful garden in Eden, full of every kind of tree, with a river flowing out. In the centre stood two special trees: the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. God told Adam to care for the garden and told him he could eat from every tree except the Tree of Knowledge—if he ate from it, he would die.

God saw that it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone, so He brought all the animals to him to name. Adam named them, but he noticed that none had a suitable companion.

So, God caused Adam to sleep deeply, took a rib from him, and made a woman. When Adam awoke, God brought her to him, and Adam said, “This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She’ll be called woman because she was taken out of man.” That’s why a man leaves his parents to unite with his wife, becoming one flesh.

Adam named her Eve, meaning she would become the mother of all people.
